How your Payout is Calculated
We get it… Challenge payouts can feel like a mystery. At Kale, creators are our #1 priority and we want to do our part to keep things transparent and fair.
Payout is based on 3 factors: unique viewers, leaf levels, and user status. Let’s break it down.
First, let’s talk Unique Viewers
The base pay for every Kale video is calculated based on the number of unique viewers you introduce the brand and product to. Unique Viewers are different from total views because they refer to the number of different accounts that watched your video, not the number of times your video was watched. So, even if someone watches your video 10 times (we’re flattered), it still only counts as one viewer. The focus here is on reach, not replays.
Next is Leaf Levels
You’ll see leaves on every challenge, which correlate with payout potential. Each leaf adds a bonus to your payout, so completing 3-leaf challenge will maximize your rewards!
Lastly, the different Kale statuses
Users are sorted into two categories: Kale Icon and Rising Star. Kale Icons earn more per unique viewer than a Rising Star. That’s because Icons are creators who consistently post high-quality content, meet challenge requirements, and put creativity and effort into every post. In addition to higher payout, Icons have first access to new brands and the ability to skip the waitlist.
Every Kale user starts as a Rising Star. Our goal is to help you reach Icon status, and you can learn exactly how on the Profile tab in the Kale app. You’ve got this!
TLDR:
The more people your video reaches, the higher your reward
The leaves correlate with bonuses
Icons earn more than Rising Stars
Transparency isn’t just a buzzword. We want you to know what you’re earning and why. Got questions? Our DMs are always open!
